A good 5v5 pitch makes a good game. The surface, the lights and how easy it is to get there decide whether you keep coming back every week. Here is what regulars look for, and the PitchUp venues in Budapest where 5v5 and 6v6 games run.

What makes a great 5v5 pitch

  • Good turf: even, not too worn, with enough infill so the ball rolls true.
  • Floodlights that light the whole pitch evenly, essential for evening games from autumn.
  • Easy to reach by public transport, with somewhere to park.
  • Changing rooms and showers, especially in winter.
  • A sensible size: big enough for passing moves, small enough that everyone is involved.

Where 5v5 and 6v6 games run in Budapest
