Play football at BME Sporttelep, Budapest

BME Sporttelep is where most pickup football on PitchUp happens. It sits on Bogdánfy utca in Újbuda, right by the Danube and next to the BME and ELTE campuses at Lágymányos. Games run several times a week, so if you want to play in Budapest without a team, this is the easiest place to start. This guide covers what the pitch is like, what games cost and how to join one.

The pitch

• Address: Bogdánfy utca, 1117 Budapest, in the XI. district (Újbuda).
• Surface: artificial turf, so turf shoes or short studs work best.
• Formats: mostly 5v5 and 6v6. Small-sided games mean lots of touches.
• Facilities: parking on site.
• Setting: by the Danube, beside the BME and ELTE Lágymányos campuses.

What games cost and how long they last

Each host sets the price per player, and it includes the pitch. At BME Sporttelep, spots have ranged from 1,800 to 3,000 Ft, and most games cost 2,000 to 3,000 Ft. Games last 60 to 120 minutes, with 60 and 90 minutes the most common. The match page shows the exact price, length and format before you book.

Who plays here

BME Sporttelep suits anyone who lives or works around Újbuda, Kelenföld or Lágymányos. It is also the home pitch for many students at BME and ELTE. Games mix Hungarians, international students and people who moved here for work, and many are played in English. Levels are mixed, so you do not need to be a former club player.
